As an Analyst/Associate in Alternate Finance, you will support the team's loan financing operations focused on private credit, middle market loans, and broadly syndicated loan facilities. You will play a key role in monitoring existing private credit loan portfolios and contributing to the team's private credit loan evaluation processes including underwriting collateral obligations, assigning advance rates, identifying valuation adjustment events, and assigning loan values. This role provides exposure to private credit, structured finance, credit analysis, and innovative approaches to portfolio management in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.

  • Apply eligibility criteria, concentration limits, and collateral quality tests as defined in facility agreements to client loan submissions.
  • Monitor existing portfolios of approved loans, tracking key performance metrics to identify potential credit deterioration or valuation adjustment events.
  • Collaborate with clients to discuss portfolio composition, collateral performance, and market developments, building relationships that support business development efforts.
  • Interface with the Loan Financing desk, CLO teams, and Group Risk Management to discuss views on single name credit, portfolios, and deal terms.
  • Stay current on market trends, credit conditions, and regulatory developments affecting alternate finance and structured lending products.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior team members and stakeholders on portfolio performance, emerging risks, and market trends in private credit and leveraged lending.
  • Leverage technology and analytical tools (including Python, Artificial Intelligence, Excel, SQL, or similar platforms) to improve workflow efficiency, automate reporting processes, and enhance data analysis capabilities.
  • Work with third-party service providers (collateral custodians, valuation firms, monitoring agents) to ensure accurate and timely loan valuations and portfolio reporting.

Relevant Skills and Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in credit analysis, leveraged finance, corporate banking, risk, or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of credit fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to assess complex credit situations and distill key information for decision-making.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral), with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in analysis, reporting, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with an innovative mindset and interest in using technology to enhance processes and workflows.
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, or other programming/data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with private credit, middle market lending, or leveraged loan markets.
