Job Title: Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) – Consultant

Location: New York, NY 10016

Job Type: Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join as a Consultant in a specialized medical-legal environment. This role is focused on providing clinical supervision, mentorship, and emotional support to social work professionals serving individuals impacted by opioid overdose-related loss.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular 45-minute one-on-one clinical supervision sessions with social work staff
  • Support clinicians in building self-awareness, enhancing clinical competencies, and achieving professional growth
  • Provide guidance to improve quality of care and client engagement strategies
  • Assist staff in managing work-related stress and addressing vicarious trauma
  • Identify individualized learning goals and support ongoing skill development
  • Facilitate discussions on advanced clinical topics, including:
    • Transference and countertransference
    • Parallel process
    • Cultural competence and belief systems
  • Model and reinforce best practices in clinical supervision
  • Collaborate with leadership teams, including supervisory and program management staff
  • Participate in team meetings to ensure alignment and consistency across services
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all supervision sessions

Required Qualifications

  • Active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the state of New York
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience providing clinical supervision to LMSWs
  • Experience supporting individuals experiencing grief related to opioid overdose loss
  • Prior experience working in a medical-legal or multidisciplinary environment
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and clinician support methodologies
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentorship skills

Education Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) or higher from an accredited institution
