We are looking for a creative, analytical, and systems-driven Game Designer to own and evolve BitLife’s core gameplay systems, including economy, progression, and procedural narrative frameworks. The ideal candidate for this role will also have a deep understanding of and appreciation for pop culture, internet humor, and emergent narrative design. You will partner with narrative designers, product managers, and engineers as you develop systems that will take BitLife to the next level.
This role requires working from our office in Miami several days per week.
Translate product KPIs (such as retention, engagement, conversion) into system design hypotheses
Design, test, and iterate on features using data-informed decision-making
Architect, prototype, and refine a modern, data informed interface for the BitLife user experience
Adjust current mechanics and systems to ensure players enjoy a more fluid and frictionless journey
Use insights from player data to continuously evolve and polish the overall gameplay experience
Work with product managers to design and support live events, features, and content updates
Build and manage in game economies designed for long term stability and health
Develop economic frameworks that align seamlessly with our established monetization goals
Evaluate current economy systems and introduce new models that heighten player engagement
Oversee and fine tune progression curves to ensure a satisfying pace of play
Partner closely with engineering, narrative, and QA teams to build and ship memorable player moments
Coordinate with product managers and analysts to translate KPIs into actionable game systems
Foster a supportive and feedback oriented environment that encourages collective project ownership
Uphold our commitment to making BitLife an inclusive and accessible experience for every player
5+ years of professional experience in the mobile gaming industry
Experience designing and tuning F2P economies
Strong understanding of retention and monetization mechanics
Experience working on live games with continuous updates
A proven track record with at least two successfully launched titles
A clear ability to manage and balance intricate branching logic systems
Excellent skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
Comprehensive understanding of game pacing and balancing techniques
A passion for procedural narrative games
