Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Transportation is provided, if needed, to and from Joplin, Carthage, and Webb City.

Position Overview

We are seeking dependable candidates for a Harvester position supporting a commercial mushroom production operation. The Harvester is responsible for harvesting mushrooms from growing beds while ensuring proper quality, appearance, and production standards.

This Harvester role requires careful product selection, precise cutting techniques, and maintaining production efficiency while following safety and food handling standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Harvester role includes:

  • Select mushrooms based on size and quality standards
  • Harvest mushrooms from assigned growing areas
  • Cut mushroom stems using a knife according to product specifications
  • Ensure proper presentation and container weight requirements
  • Maintain assigned beds free of debris and leftover stems
  • Monitor product quality and follow food safety standards
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for safe tool and equipment use
  • Adhere to Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Complete daily logs and reports accurately
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous harvesting or agricultural work experience preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

The Harvester position may require working indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions. Duties may include:

  • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Climbing ladders when required
  • Working around equipment, noise, and temperature changes
  • Wearing required PPE when necessary
