The Marketing Coordinator works with the Deputy Director and Director of Advancement to increase local and national visibility for the Children’s Museum through effective, sustainable marketing strategies across multiple platforms. This role supports the planning and execution of campaigns and reports to the Deputy Director.
· Support the Deputy Director in maintaining and strengthening the Children’s Museum’s brand identity and voice across all platforms.
· Create, coordinate, and maintain marketing collateral, including flyers, digital displays, social media content (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube), brochures, print ads, press releases, exhibit materials, retail items, and event signage, collaborating with team members to ensure alignment with programs, events, and advancement goals.
· Capture and produce on-site photography and videography for Museum programs, events, and promotions, as needed.
· Develop and distribute e-newsletters and email marketing campaigns, including writing content and sourcing or creating visuals.
· Maintain and regularly update the Museum’s website and events calendar to ensure accurate and timely information.
· Collaborate with the Deputy Director to develop and execute a marketing calendar for campaigns, including planning, content gathering, and implementation.
· Assist with social media day-to-day account management and guest interactions.
· Coordinate communication with social media influencers and tourism contacts to highlight the Children’s Museum.
· Monitor and analyze marketing performance across platforms (social media, email, website), and recommend improvements based on data and trends.
· Manage and maintain an organized digital library of marketing assets (photos, videos, graphics) and fulfill internal asset requests across departments.
· Physically distribute marketing materials into the local area as needed.
· Coordinate photo shoots and oversee external vendors, including graphic designers, ensuring alignment with brand standards, timelines, and project goals.
· Assist with tracking and managing the marketing budget, including monitoring expenses and supporting planning efforts.
· Collaborate with Museum staff, board members, vendors, and key volunteers to support marketing initiatives.
· Perform additional duties as assigned by the Deputy Director.
· Bilingual skills preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) preferred.
· 1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field (nonprofit or arts experience) preferred.
· Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
· Experience managing social media platforms and email marketing tools.
· Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
· Experience updating websites (e.g., WordPress or similar CMS).
· Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and stay organized.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to brand consistency.
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
· Interest in arts, education, or working in a mission-driven organization.
· Must be available to work special events on weekends and evenings and holiday hours as needed.
· Must be able to communicate clearly.
· Must be able to stand, bend, or sit for long periods of time.
· Ability to work indoors and outdoors as needed.
· Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position with benefits, reporting to the Deputy Director.
Starting pay range: $26.50 to $29.00 per hour.
