Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Traffic Signal Project Manager to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signals and related infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, resource allocation, and equipment management. This role will sit in West Point VA but will require travel throughout the Hampton Roads and Richmond areas. If you are interested, please apply and we will reach out right away!

Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking a skilled Traffic Signal Construction Manager to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signals and related infrastructure
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, resource allocation, and equipment management
  • Manage all projects to be completed on time and within budget
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and company policies
  • Develop and implement effective project schedules, resource allocation plans, and quality control measures
  • Promote a safe work environment and hold crews accountable for safe work practices
  • Provide and lead technical services on traffic engineering and ITS projects
  • Services may include traffic signal design, ITS design, signal timing analyses, illumination/lighting, ADA/sidewalk design, signing, and pavement marking and design

Qualifications:

  • This position is for an individual with a minimum of 11 years of experience in Traffic Engineering and interested in working on transportation projects with State DOTs, local governments, and the private sector
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Civil Engineering program or related field
  • Experience in traffic engineering must include traffic signal design and timing, illumination, safety analysis, operational analysis, and capacity analysis
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Active participation in professional society activities encouraged
  • Strong verbal and writing skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Assist with mentoring and training of less experienced staff
  • Assist with task management duties and interact with clients as needed
  • Ability to integrate into multiple project delivery teams with concurrent and overlapping schedules, potentially in multiple states

Work Environment:

· Field-based work, involving exposure to outdoor weather conditions and traffic environments.
