Job Description

Substitute School Nurse
Position Summary: Under general supervision of administrator and registered nurse, responsible for assisting a school nurse in providing health care services for students and maintaining health data and records.


Work Year:
Continuous
Employee Type: Full Time and Part Time
Salary: $355 for 4.0 hours or more, $177.50 for 3.99 hours or less per the Substitute Salary Schedule which may be found on Substitute Service web page 


Education and Experience Required  
One year of paid experience in health-related activities is required. Experience in an
educational organization is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding and/or Testing Required 
A valid California Driver's License
California Registered Nurse (RN) License
Current CPR Certification

Working Conditions
The working environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position will include office and school environments.

  • Credential Copy (valid CA School Nurse Services credential)
  • Certifications (California Registered Nurse (RN) License)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (Requires a valid First-Aid card and CPR certificate)
  • Resume (Provide clear evidence of required experience)
  • Proof of HS Graduation - High School Diploma or High School Transcripts or equivalent (ex: GED)
  • Driver's License Copy (Valid California Driver's License)
  • Proof of Automobile Insurance (current insurance card or declaration page with applicant's name listed)
