This position exists to provide electrical work at the Journeyman Electrician level. Work will include both planned and service work of low voltage, single-phase, three-phase power systems. Duties will vary from preventative maintenance, repair of existing components and systems, to installation of new components and systems. Weekly heating system monitoring to be conducted during the heating season and assist the Building Utilities Mechanic with building mechanical preventative maintenance and repairs.
Minimum Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of current National Electrical Code.
Ability to obtain a Boiler Engineer License (Special) within one (1) year of hire.
Minimum of a Class A Journeyman Electrician's License (Class A Master License is also acceptable).
Ability to operate, maintain and service installed life safety systems to include but not limited to addressable fire systems, carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide, etc.
Ability to safely operate assigned equipment to include but not limited to trenchers, scissor lifts, bucket/line/fork trucks, articulating boom lifts, etc.
Ability to safely use assigned power and hand tools.
Ability to perform physically demanding work such as digging by hand, working at heights and within confined spaces during all weather conditions.
Ability to service all electrical equipment.
Good maintenance and mechanical ability.
Ability to complete required background investigation to be granted network access.
Ability to self-motivate, work independently and maintain a positive work attitude.
Demonstrate ability and experience in using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook.
Must have and maintain a valid Minnesota Driver License
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with power generators.
Experience with silent Knight fire systems.
Experience with computerized maintenance management software.
Physical Requirements
Position requires ability to lift articles up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects such as heavy tools, ladders and equipment. Job may require walking or standing to a significant degree on rough terrain and may involve sitting, crawling, bending and stooping with pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls. Ability to work in an environment may include exposure to dust, noise, and occasional adverse weather conditions such as heat, cold, snow, rain and/or wind. Percentage of these tasks is approximately 80%
May require working in small, confined spaces, including manholes below ground, and require working with heights to include rooftops and water towers, etc.
