Job Description

The Department of Art & Art History at Wofford College is seeking individuals to join a roster of life drawing models. Models will pose for undergraduate drawing courses as well as monthly evening figure drawing sessions that are open to both students and the public. We are building a diverse and reliable pool of models with a range of body types, ages, and identities.

This role is essential to the study of figure drawing and observational practice in the visual arts.

Responsibilities

• Hold a variety of poses for extended periods of time (ranging from quick gesture poses to longer sustained poses)
• Work collaboratively with faculty to support specific class needs and learning objectives
• Maintain professionalism and punctuality for scheduled sessions
• Participate in clothed and nude modeling sessions, depending on availability and level of comfortability

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to remain still and focused for sustained periods (poses may be physically demanding or uncomfortable)
• Reliability and strong time management
• No prior modeling or art experience required

Preferred Qualities

• Comfort working in an educational environment
• Openness to direction and adaptability during sessions
• Interest in supporting arts education

Scheduling

• Sessions are scheduled on an as-needed basis during the academic year
• Opportunities include daytime classes and evening public figure drawing sessions
• Flexible scheduling; models may opt into sessions based on availability

Additional Information

• Modeling sessions are conducted in a respectful, professional studio environment
• Nude modeling is for educational purposes only within a structured academic setting
• Breaks are provided during longer sessions
